Annapurna Region Treks
Annapurna Circuit Trek
Trek Grade:C (Challenging)
Trek Duration:15 Days
Hotel in KTM/Pokhara: 4 Nights
Season:March to May & Sept. to Nov.

ImageThere are terraced fields on the mountain slopes supporting crops of millet and wheat, corn and barley and small flocks of sheep and goats. The Manang tribes residing along this route are traditionally a Tibetan trading race. They are Buddhist by religion and Tibetan by origin, and their architecture and lifestyle are quite different to other tribes in the southern slopes. This trek to the Manang Valley and into the rain shadow of the Annapurna ranges offers dramatic scenery of changing color. We meet Thakalis and Mustang tribes controlling the busy trading and pilgrimage trail along the Kali Gandaki. We also meet Gurungs and Magars when we move through the gap between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna into the water zones. This is one of the classic and most rewarding treks in Nepal. On the whole trek, you will always have magnificent views of all central Himalayan ranges.

Hotel in KTM/Pokhara: 5 Nights
Season:Sept. to June.

ImageThis is a wonderful trek through lovely Gurung and Magar villages before descending into the Kali Gandaki Valley located between the peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. This valley is an important migration route for birds that fly from the Siberian steppes and Tibetan Plateau towards the south in the winter. The trail follows the ancient trade route to Mustang and Tibet and passes through Tibet-like countryside, reaching the pilgrimage site of Muktinath (3,658m). We retrace the trail to the hot spring at Tatopani before returning to Pokhara via Ghandrung and Dhampus. For this trek, we need to fly to Jomsom and begin the trek from there to Muktinath. This trek also can be done by taking a flight to Pokhara then trekking through Dhampus - Ghandrung - Jomsom up to Muktinath. After Muktinath we retrace our way back to Jomsom and fly back to Kathmandu.
