| Trek Grade: | C (Challenging) | | Trek Duration: | 22 Days | | Hotel in KTM: | 4 Nights | | Season: | Feb. to May & Sept. to Nov. | Nar and Phu Valleys, the only virgin trekking destination in Nepal is culturally and religiously very rich. This region is still untouched by present modernization and tourism and is without a doubt the most beautiful trekking destination in Nepal because of its beautiful pine forests, amazing views of beautiful gorges and waterfalls on the way to Dharmasla. The charming valley of the Meta, ruins and forts of the Khampa settlements in Chyakhu, Jhunum, Meta and Khyang as well as the huge cliff of Khangbhir are another attraction of this trek. You can see beautiful Chortens, remote villages, monasteries and stunning vistas of Himlung, Kangaru Peak, Ratna Chuli, Annapurna Ranges, Tilicho Peak and Pisang Peak on this trek. The gorge of Mahendra pool is an additional attraction to make this trek very exciting and memorable. We start this journey by taking a private bus to Bensisahar and end at Pokhara. From Pokhara we can fly or drive back to Kathmandu to conclude the trip.
The incredible latitudinal range, unusual geographical and climatic mix makes the trekking in this area a real naturalist’s dream. In less than a week we move from the sub-tropical areas around Pokhara to high Tundra and the glaciers of the sanctuary.
The lower area of the range is inhabited by Gurungs and Magars, the sturdy Gurkhas by legend. Here, the home turf of these friendly smiling people that became the famous Gorkha regiments of the British and Indian armies can be experienced. Pokhara is the main trade center for the whole of this region where Gurungs and Newars live. The return trail follows one of the historical and most important trading routes between India and Tibet. This journey also forms a major pilgrimage route between India and Tibet.
